Plasma is the fourth state of matter. Plasma is not as common as the other states of matter. Plasma can be found in places such as flourescent lights, stars, and lightning strikes. Plasma cutters are a tool that canbe used to cut metal. They have been around since world war 2. A plasma cutter works by sending pressurized gas through a channel and then, ther is a negative electrode in the channel, the electrode makes a corcuit when touched and the circuit will make a spark that will heat the gas to over 16,00 degrees celsius thus turning into plasma, the plasma is fired at the metal and the metal is melted.
