Persepolis - Class Act (April 29th)

Today in class we had a brief discussion on the role of procrastination in Persepolis.  Marji is shown to be quite the procrastinator in Persepolis.  She always seems to put off solving a situation until it turns into a crisis and someone has to help her come to the realization that she has to change.  I hadn't noticed while reading Persepolis that Marji was a procrastinator, but after the class discussion I realized this is indeed one of her main characteristics. However, I do not think this is necessarily a bad thing.  After talking with Manu and Ivy in class about this, I believe Marji's procrastination creates learning opportunities for herself and eventually she learns enough from these to not make these mistakes in the future.  Marji is a wise girl, but we have to remember she's not perfect, she makes mistakes and this helps her learn and in the long run provides her with wisdom.  This is what I believe makes the story.
