Persepolis April 21st (Literary Feature Hunt)

Within Persepolis, I found that the tone of how the characters say their words depends on the shape of a speech bubble. For example on page 140 where Marji and her mom reunite after the bombing near where she lived they address eachother with pointy speech bubbling which could convey a tone of relief, concern and worry. The pointy speech bubble can also portray the volume of the character's voice whether if it is a loud yell or a quiet whisper. An example of that happening would be on p. 134 when Marji is wailing about not wanting to go to the committee headquarters. Her feelings get put into the shape of the speech bubble as she progresses in her stages of fear and tears. The font within the speech bubble also help portray the tone of the section using p. 134 as an example. As she has gotten to the highest stage of wailing her word fonts are bolded and bigger as if she was raising her voice. This is the literary feature that I found this week

Jonathan i really liked this

Jonathan i really liked this idea, i thought it was interesting and I didn't notice that at all till now. Once I began to flip through again I realized this was true for a lot of the scenes.
