Industriallll polllllllution!!

Stuff to add

Britannia Beach, a typical mine near Squamish, BC, is an example of a mine which pollutes its surrounding environments. The water from the Britannia Beach mine is transparent and seems perfectly clean, but in reality is contaminated and is undrinkable. Rainwater flows through the tunnels in the mine, causes chemical reactions with the mineral content within the mines, and produces acid rock drainage (including copper, cadmium, iron, and zinc). In the past, sea life, such as salmons, were seriously affected by the ARD (acid rock drainage). Though once known as one of the most polluted mines in North America, Britannia Creek is now much less polluted.
