integration

An easy to follow tutorial on definite integrals on the TI calculator.

MATH INTEGRATION!..basic definite

Integral is finding the value which gets its derivative.

i.e. the opposite of multiplying is division, the opposite of differentiating is integrating.

Integration is used to calculate the area, as we see here in these photos:

Geffen's notes on integration:

-Integration is the opposite of deriving; you are literally going backwards to start off with. What you are looking for is what value would give you the given derivative.

eg: 2x = x^2

Where x^2 is what you are looking for and 2x is given.

- Then, once you have the orgional value for the derivative you have to substitue the given values for the range of the function for x.

eg: (3)^2 -(0)^2

Where 3 and 0 are your given range - symbolising b (3) and a (0) - and the solving always happens as b-a.  Your answer after substitution is the answer to the question.
